About Lucinda
My Background.
As you know, my journey as an Advocate started when I was a little girl. Advocacy is a great responsibility, and I am privileged to have been called by God to carry this mantle. But advocacy is more than filing a lawsuit and fighting in court. It’s more than ensuring that people know their civil rights. It’s about enlightening people. Equipping people with tools that will help them compete in this world in a way that they can sustain themselves and their families. Through Litigation and Education, I equip people. I Empower people.

EDUCATION & WRITING
I started my career in Education in 1986, as a Legal Instructor. Since that beginning, I have taught in numerous colleges and universities. Most recently at Herzing University, as an Adjunct Professor of Law. There, I taught legal classes in the University’s Legal Studies Department. A Civil Rights Practitioner and Court Litigator for 27 years, I know the importance of quality legal writing. I turned my passion for the law and teaching to facilitating legal writing seminars and workshops. My work has inspired me to write other educational and inspirational material that empowers.
A Legal Writing Coach, I utilize the I.R.A.C. method in my approach to teaching. The acronym (I.R.A.C.) stands for Issue, Rule of Law, Analysis, Conclusion. It is a method that is used by lawyers in the field. It guides the student through the process of writing Pleadings, Briefs, Motions, and other papers that are associated with litigation. Using case scenarios, students construct legal documents in real time. This “one on one” approach and engagement with each student equips the individual with readiness on day one when they start their new job as a Paralegal or legal professional. (See Student Testimonials).
